John 3:16-21 

At the center of the gospel stands God's love for a sinful world, shown in giving His Son as a saving sacrifice rather than the kind of conqueror people expected. Faced with Christ, each person either clings to the darkness of unbelief or comes into the light through new birth.

John 1:35-51 

Jesus is identified as the Lamb of God who takes away sin, the Messiah promised in the Scriptures, and the one whom the disciples recognize as the Son of God, the King of Israel, and the Son of Man. Disciples follow him because they see their need for him, he calls them through ordinary means like testimony and invitation, and he reveals his authority, knowledge, and saving purpose as the one who opens heaven and brings people to God.

John the Baptist defines himself by who he is not and by his role as a voice preparing the way, making clear that he is not the Christ but points beyond himself. He bears witness to Jesus as the Lamb of God, the Spirit-anointed Son of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

Jesus is the eternal Word who is God, who gives life and light, and who came into the world by taking on human flesh. Though many reject him, those who receive him by faith are given new life, forgiveness, and the right to become children of God.

Jesus was truly tempted as a human, yet without sin, and his victory is good news for those who struggle. Christ's faithfulness provides comfort, forgiveness, and real help for his people.

Jesus did not merely endure the cross. From His birth to His prayer in Gethsemane, His human will was perfectly aligned with the Father's purpose, revealing the depth of His obedience and love.
